Kelim Life Recovery

Privacy

Privacy Policy

Reaching out for help takes courage, and it should never cost you your privacy. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you hold over it.
  • Confidentiality First

Recovery is deeply personal. Enquiries, admissions information and anything shared with our team are treated as confidential and handled with discretion.

  • Only What We Need

We ask for the minimum information required to respond to your enquiry and assess whether Kelim is a suitable placement — nothing more.

  • Never Sold or Shared

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

How We Handle Your Information

Information We Collect

When you contact us through our enquiry form, by email, telephone or WhatsApp, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, your relationship to the person seeking help, and the details you choose to share about your situation.

You are never obliged to disclose clinical or medical information through the website. Sensitive health details are best discussed directly with our team so they can be handled with appropriate care.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, answer questions about our programme, assess whether Kelim House is an appropriate placement, and — where relevant — coordinate an admission or a referral.

We may also use it to follow up on a conversation you have started with us. We do not add you to marketing lists without your consent.

Confidentiality of Residents

The identity of residents and former residents is kept confidential. We do not publish resident names, photographs or personal stories without express written permission, and any testimonial appearing on this site has been shared with consent.

Information about a resident is shared with family members, referring professionals or treatment facilities only where the resident has consented, or where there is a serious and immediate risk to health or safety.

How Long We Keep It

Enquiry information is retained only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Where an enquiry does not proceed to admission, we remove the information once it no longer serves a legitimate purpose.

Your Rights Under POPIA

Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to request that we correct or delete it, to withdraw consent you previously gave, and to object to how your information is being used.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at management@kelimhouse.co.za or on 010 502 2759 and we will respond as promptly as we reasonably can.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access and misuse. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please avoid sending highly sensitive information through the website form — telephone or an in-person conversation is safer.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. Any updated version will be published on this page.
